Asking For Guidance

 Psalms 143:1 “Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me and in thy righteousness.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We are often reminded that what we pray for may not be what is best for us.  We are able to see only a little way, and our vision is clouded by our present situation and daily happenings and distractions.
For Today:  If the problems I face seem beyond my endurance, I will not tell Him what I expect Him to do about my difficulties; He knows what is best for me.
When I am faced with something, which it is beyond my power to perform, to decide, or to cope with, I will not struggle with it by myself.  I will ask Him to show me what steps to take.  This is my prayer:  Not to ask for anything but guidance.”
Psalms of a Woman
Praise You In The Storm
 On Anger
Who hasn’t felt much anger?
Who hasn’t felt much pain?
When one has felt the weight of life
Who hasn’t felt the strain?
But undue anger stirs the soul
As bitterness does churn
It heats the coals of inner hate
And in the heart does burn
Thus joy that comes from serving
This fruit of how we live
Is then replaced with darkness
The fruit that anger gives
But one must be admonished
To see the discipline
That when our trials weigh us down
We take all things to Him
For every matter bringeth forth
The good in every man
If taken to the proper source
And left in God’s great hands
For He is our great Counselor
Our inner pain He hears
E’en though in anger we do cry
He sees through it our tears
And God will surely help us
Though time it’ll surely take
But refining is a process
For gold, He will you make
Then shine you will for all to see
God’s humbleness in you
They’ll give the glory to our Lord
When He has seen us through
Let us not let anger deter us from our growth in overcoming, even though it will often cause us to fall back in our progress in our struggle with our trials and/or addictions.  There is a God who has suffered great persecution from others, being ridiculed, falsely accused, mocked, plotted against.  He suffered mental and physical abuse from others, but His faith in His Father through His Holy Spirit helped Him to have hope and strength in Him and have courage to live His Father’s way without striking back.  We can also obtain that spirit to fight the good fight, to overcome our difficulties if we come to Christ and the Father and ask forgiveness and help in our time of need.  He is the God who is greater than ourselves. He took all the abuse, so that we wouldn’t have to.  He suffered as many of us do, so that He could understand how we feel and be our great Intercessor to help us, hearing our cries and giving us strength in time of need. He has been there for me, and He can for you!
Isaiah 53:4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
1 Peter 2:3 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
 Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
 Hang in there!!
You Are Special To God
Keep in remembrance, the all powerful God who created heaven and earth also has the power to forgive and cast your sins behind His back if we repent and cast our cares on Him.
No matter how you feel about yourself, i.e., I’m ugly, I’m not worthy, I’m too clumsy,I have too many addictions, I’m not a good – wife – mother – husband – father, etc., God is bigger than your self hatred.
Hebrews 2:6   But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Remember this when you feel insecure or unworthy and you feel that life is not worth living, think about these thoughts:
~ All the hairs on your head are numbered.  Luke 12:7
~ Every tear that you cry is saved in a bottle by your Father.  He is very aware of your pain and wants to consolel you.  Psalms 56:8
~ You’re worth many sparrows and not forgotten by God.  Matthew 10:31
~ God will feed and clothe you, for you are His child.  Matthew 6:30-33
~ You are made in His image.  He is your maker and your Father.  Genesis 1:27
~ You have a big Brother who is there for you 24/7 with no charge. Psalm 116:1-2
~ Your Brother died for you when you were a sinner — not when you were perfect.  John 3:16
A Hummingbird Morning
Taking in the Nectar
Gazing out my window this morning, I noticed one of my hummingbirds busily gathering nectar from what was left of the remaining four-o-clock flowers as fall rain drenched his feathers.  Flying busily from flower to flower, plant to plant, I knew he was gathering for the long winter migration south until the warmth of spring returns.  It seemed to be content with what was the remaining life of the now fading blooms.  He appeared thankful that God had provided him with just what he needed, no more and no less.  I did not doubt in my mind that he would make it there and home again on his long flight.
I began to contemplate my own life.  How long was it going to be?  Am preparing as this little winged friend was in my own life to prepare me for the next season in my life – God’s Kingdom?  Am I satisfied with the life God has given me to prepare, or do I fuss and kick up a storm when all the flowers are blossoming and I have to go look elsewhere –especially in the rain!?
At this time, my body is fighting a chest cold/flu, leaving me in a weakened condition.  It seems that as you age, when you’re at your weakest, you begin to ask yourself the questions:  How long is my life going to last here on the earth?  Did I do what the Lord required of me?  Am I satisfied, as the hummingbird was to taste the last drops of nectar, preparing for a future flight – that for eternity, even though the flowers aren’t perfect?
God asked His followers to be content with what He provides, because He knows what we need.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
God tells us to ponder His creation.  When we ask those questions, He hears and answers us with His word:
Luke 12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Lu 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
God provides what we need, physically and spiritually if we obey from the heart what He requires of us, even though imperfect.  What we lack, He will provide for.
He encourages us not to worry.  He will provide the spiritual nourishment and growth we need if we live our lives for Him.  This will enable us to drink from the nectar of God (God’s Word ~ guidance from the Holy Spirit) until we meet with Him face to face.  Won’t that be a glorious day!!?
1Thessalonians 5:1-23
Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Quench not the Spirit.
Despise not prophesying.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Smile!  God is providing!!
Here’s To Today
One Day At A Time
There are two days in each week about which we should not worry. One of these is yesterday, the other tomorrow.
Yesterday with its misunderstanding, faults and blunders, aches and pains, has passed forever beyond our control. We cannot undo a single act that was performed or erase a single word that was spoken. Yesterday is gone.
And tomorrow is beyond our immediate control. The sun will rise, maybe in splendor or behind a mask of clouds. But, it will rise; and until it does, you have no stake in tomorrow.
This leaves only one day to concentrate on…today. And anyone can fight the battles of just one day. It’s when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we break down. Just live one day at a time.
